Christmas Recap...better late then never

We had a wonderful Christmas in Orem as usual. It was great to spend time with the family and the highlight again was getting to talk to Robert (aka. Elder Cutie Pie). He called Christmas Eve for over an hour and then again Christmas night for over 3 hours! Who knew we'd all have that much to say, but it was wonderful! He's doing well and sounds happy. And boy do we miss him!!

This year we stayed over night at mom's house in her new guest room and it was beautiful! She has it decorated so cute in butter yellow and black and white. Super cute! We brought our girls down with us early Thursday. We decided instead of spending all day cooking our big Christmas dinner to have breakfast for dinner instead. Super yummy and not nearly all the work. So that was a nice change. Dad made his delicious waffles and omelets. It was delish! We spent the day kind of just relaxing. We played cards, and watched movies, and the boys played x box and then we talked to Robert that night. Around 10:30 a few of us opened a gift early and then Santa came a little after that and the rule at our house is anytime after midnight you can your open your stocking! And guess who was first this year... MOM! She is such a kid!

Christmas morning was great. We slept in a little this year. My cousin Aaron joined us this year which was nice, so we had 8 of us all together this year and 4 pups! We did presents for a few hours and we all got some fun things this year!! I definitely felt spoiled with fun toys! After presents we got working on Christmas dinner and it actually wasn't too bad. Most everything was prepared and just needed warming up. I think we ate around 2:00. Played more cards and played with our toys, and took much needed naps! Robert ended up calling around 7:30 that night and Michael and I headed for home after his calls. It's always sad when it's over, but we had a lot of fun being with family. And, that was the last one without Robert!! Can't wait for next year!
