Results are in

Last night I got the phone call we've been waiting over a month for. The medication that we believed caused the medical issue's for our sweet girls have been having testing done to see if there were mistakes with it. We had two different labs testing it and both took over a month. Then finally both results were received by our vet last night. He called me and let me know that yes, in fact that medication was bad. I asked him how bad it was and he told me he hadn't done the calculations on it yet but all he could tell me is, it was really bad. The manufacturer of this medication did not use the correct measurements and in turn caused ivermectin poisoning in both our girls. I guess that normally the medication is measured in micrograms and it was measured in milligrams instead (I hope I got that right). Today they are going in for blood work to make sure that their kidney's and livers are working just fine and that no damage was done to them internally. Once we get those tests results back and everyone is fine- this will be over!! They have happily agreed to pay for all of the medical bills, just over $3,000, and have taken full responsibility for their mistake.
