Obedience Classes Here We Come

Our puppy training has actually gone pretty well. We've had one accident in the house since we began, so that is a HUGE improvement. The kenneling them at night has been a bit more of a struggle. They started out rough, then did really well and now are back to being rough again. I am completely out at night- the house could be on fire and I'd sleep right through it, Michael on the other hand would wake up if a pin dropped. So, the girls are definitely giving him a run for his money. They know if they cry long enough he'll come down and check on them, so every night they'll cry and cry until he comes down. And once he goes back upstairs the cycle starts all over again. I think ear plugs will be a must VERY soon for him. Anyway, we took the girls in to the vet today to get their manicure and pedicures (that's what I call getting their nails trimmed- how can they hate it if it's called a manicure and pedicure??) We got talking to the lady there about how their training has been going and she suggested an obedience class that she teaches. I am SO excited. We got them both signed up for a 6 week course. They'll take it together, and we're told by the end of the course they will not smother people that come to visit us (I think our neighbors will appreciate this!!) they will sit calmly while we give them their manicures and pedicures as apposed to having to sit on them to hold them down while they claw us to death. They should sit and come on demand. All of which sounds too good to be true. But I am more then willing to give it a try. I feel like we are "that family" that everyone knows with the kids that are completely out of control and unruly. yes, that's us, only with dogs. So, we're trying to rein them both in. Class starts Monday night.
