SURPRISE!

Today was a really fun day. Emily and I had been planning for about 2 weeks a surprise birthday party for my mom. Since she already said her age (in a comment on the previous post) I guess I can too!! She turned 50 years old yesterday which we felt was a pretty special one to celebrate so we wanted to do it big for her. With the help of dad getting her to Emily's house we had six of her friends downstairs waiting when she arrived. We had a lot of fun! We had a delicious lunch, played birthday bingo (now that was an event!), had cake and ice-cream, Debbie read a fun poem she had written to the birthday girl, took pictures with Yalonda (a cardboard cut out of a blond hottie with mom's face) and laughed A LOT! She definitely has a great group of friends. We hope you had a good time mom and that this is a birthday you wont soon forget, and if you do, we can blame it on old age!! Love you!

What a fun, fun party. Betsy, you and Emily are just the sweetest daughters ever. And boy, can you two throw a party. Great food, beautiful decorations and wonderful friends. What a great day. Thank you all so much. I truly feel loved! And enjoy that cake Kathy Jo. Some of us have a little more restraint and will eat ours after our oatmeal! Remember, it's all about fiber once you hit 50.
