Thursday night, 12:00 midnight- what is a girl to do?

It's been quite a month at our house. My health has continued to be an issue and last night it just sky rocketed, however I have been SO tired of feeling sick all of the time I tried to just ignore it and do the things I needed to do. We went out for a walk, we talked to the guy selling fruit that comes around... just kind of little things around the house. Well around 9:00 my symptoms were getting a lot worse. I was insanely nauseous, dizzy, light headed, and a few other symptoms you nor I want to talk about... trust me. We ended up calling the 24 hour nurse hot line that our insurance offers and they told us to go straight to the hospital-do not pass go- do not collect 200 dollars. So off we went at 11:45 pm headed to Alta View- me and my favorite throw up bowl buckled into the passenger seat. Tonight of all nights was not the time to be doing this. Michael has been training for his new job all week long and this morning is when he had his test to see if he could be officially offered the position. So being in the hospital for 4 hours in the middle of the night instead of in bed getting some much needed R&R was not the best situation. Anyway, at the hospital they were thinking that it was either my gallbladder or my pancreas that was the issue. After blood work and a cat scan (i think) they ruled those options out and are pretty convinced all of this was due to my chohns disease. They got me comfortable and sent us on our merry way with some medication that should help and now I need to see the crohns specialist for further instructions. It's kind of frustrating because I have no clue what caused the flare up or how to take care of a flare up without going into the er each time, also the er doctor wanted me to meet with the specialist within 24 hours and i just called and he doesn't have an opening until July. Ugh.
Ps. Michael just called- he got 95% on his test!! WAHOO!

you should talk to sarah. she really knows a lot about GI stuff and i am sure that she has a doc that she could refer you to before july. seriously give her a call, you will be happy with your results :)

sorry about all of the issues lately. too bad i wasn't there to take care of you.

Thanks ladies, we're doing ok. But I tell ya, it's been one heck of a month at our house and I am ready for a break! But it could definately be worse so I'm greatful that our challenges have been "smaller". I will definately have to talk to her about this... it's all very new to me. We definately need more nurses like you Miss April!
