Last two weeks bullet style

Here is what we've been up to the last two weeks, in no perticular order whatsoever

  • I started a new position as an IT Recruiter-loving it! It is definitely different from the previous recruiting position I had and DEFINITELY a different environment then the last two jobs I've had. All together now: HALLELUJAH!!
  • We ran into problems with both of our cars in the same week. AWESOME! 1000 dollars in repairs later here we are with this new beauty

and are now selling this beauty

    • Michael and I celebrated our 5th wedding anniversary on the 9th and enjoyed a really nice date night together. He got off of work earlier than normal which just about made my year and to top it off I got a beautiful bouquet of roses with a really sweet card and taken out for sushi with my hot hubby.
    • We also celebrated auntie em's twenty something birthday on the 7th. Still waiting to hear what age she has decided to be this year. We had dinner at tepanyaki's with her & Benji and one other couple on the 7th and then this morning celebrated as a family with garage sales and a bbq. Happy bas day auntie em!! We love you!!
    • During all the fun I've managed to work on a few projects that ended up turning out pretty darn cute if you ask me. Here are a few pictures:
I finally decided on a color scheme for my craft room. I'm going with green, black & white with black and white damask curtains (I know you'll love that, Jen!). So I decided to give these baskets of mine a quick face lift to work with that scheme. I put the tan canvas basket liners in a bleach bath to make them a crisp clean white and then did a quick spray of the baskets with the green I'm using... now this works perfect!!

Ok so this one I forgot the after shot on which normally I forget the before shot. But, here is the color I painted it. I paid $3 at a garage sale for this cute bench and put $6 worth of paint into it and it is currently priced at a local consignment store for $48!

Again, forgot the before shot until red paint had already made it's way to it. I paid $2 at a garage sale for this coffe table and decided I would branch out and paint it a fun color other then black or white and if I hated it, it wouldn't be the end of the world. I actually really liked it!

This red beauty has also found a home at the local consignment store and is waiting to be priced. I'll be interested to see what it goes for after only about 8 bucks total invested into it
And then there is this lovely table. I have to say this is my favorite to date. It just was SO bad before. Weathered & warped... it needed some serious lovin. I found the cutest knobs to use (97 cents a piece, thank you very much!) which was just the cherry on the top! I am going to have a really hard time getting rid of this one! And because of that it's sitting in my family room for now. Maybe for awhile. Maybe...forever.

    • Last weekend we were able to squeeze in Swiss Days. Michael had never been and was a good sport to go with his weefie. And, I got my supply of wrapping paper for the year which is pretty much the only reason to go to Swiss Days isn't it? That and peach pie at the hub! On the way home we took the scenic route and enjoyed a nice drive through the canyon together. It was a good day!

    So handsome!

    • I need a nap

I don't blame you for wanting to keep that table. It's darling!

I have kind of started to do it on the side a little bit. We'll see what happens. I can't seem to part with the bigger pieces!

Maybe you could come spruce my place up! Your DIY projects are awesome! My problem is, I don't speak furniture . . . I simply cannot see past the ugly state that it's in!
