Secret Revealed!

Michael and I have had some exciting news for about a month now and we were wanting to keep it a secret just in case things didn't work out, but everything is looking really good and we can't keep quiet about it anymore! Anyway... here is the secret!! A few weeks ago I got a call from a real estate agent that I have spoken previously with on and off, and she just wanted to check in and see if we were any closer to being able to get into a new home. Michael and I kind of had put the idea on hold while we continued to build our credit and get bills paid off so I didn't think much of the call. However, she had mentioned that if we could get into something now it would great because of the interest rates, lower prices on homes, and the tax credit. So I thought what the heck, let's have someone look at our credit and stuff and see how close we are to it. To our surprise we were approved within minutes. The next day that same agent started sending me homes to look at and we went house hunting together. We went out 3-4 times together looking at 5+ homes each time. We saw some beautiful homes. But the one that struck our fancy was a model home. We loved it and as we walked through it we thought there is no way we could get into this beautiful home with all of the upgrades we would want (which of course the model home had them all) and still be in our price range. As luck would have it we can get into it in our price range with only giving up a few of the upgrades. And also as luck would have it, there is a spec home of that same model home being built right now that has the upgrades we want and so we don't have to start from square one with having it built- it is already framed and ready for the dry wall. Tuesday we met with someone at the gallery and began picking out all of the finishes and colors, and make it our own. We made an offer Tuesday February 2nd and it was accepted within minutes (one of the benefits with dealing directly with the builder!). So... the exciting news is.... DRUM ROLL PLEASE...
Michael and I are buying our first home!! We will be moving around the middle of April, once the home is completed. It is beautiful and it is ours!! We still can't believe it! This is definitely something we have wanted for many many years and it is finally happening!!
We have been blessed, for sure!! I will post pictures and more info about this fun adventure as we get closer to our close date.
