Monday we were supposed to hear about this job Michael has been hoping for, yesterday night we finally heard that they passed on Michael because he wasn't willing to do commission only. We are pretty disappointed and frustrated. When he interviewed he was told it would be a base salary. Then a few days ago they sent an email out to all of their applicants they were interested in and said OK tell us what you would need to make salary wise and if you would be willing to do commission only. Please keep in mind that this is a start up company and they have no idea how much is possible doing commission only- who would opt for that? So because Michael said we are not in a position to do commission only they decided to pass on him. I am trying to look at it as this didn't work out because it's not the place he is supposed to be right now. And something will come up where he should be. It's really hard to watch Michael right now- he's been in such higher positions and has been such an important part of several different companies and now he is working in a call center with a bunch of teenagers. I know he's frustrated and I know that he is struggling. I feel helpless and don't know how to make the situation better for him. We both feel like we are just being hit right now... when it rains, it pours.
