Happy Fathers Day, Dad!

I wanted to take this opportunity to play a little game my dad likes to call "Things we love about Dad". The idea of this game is brought up by him on every fathers day, birthday, thanksgiving, and really almost any time the family gets together. The second he brings it up the family generally moans about the idea and we quickly try to change the subject. Well Dad, today let's play!

THINGS I LOVE ABOUT MY DAD
1. I love that he makes it clear that my mom is the most important thing to him and does everything he can to let her and everyone else know that.
2. I love that he makes us laugh non stop when we are together
3. I love to hear his stories and jokes, although some less then others (the bottle was under his coat comes to mind...)
4. I love how generous he is with his time and money and in many other ways. He sees people in need and he jumps in to help, almost always anonymously.
5. I love hearing him talk about my brother being on his mission and how every time he talks about it there suddenly is a gust of wind & dust that comes through and gets in his eyes and makes them water...
6. I love how anytime you ask him a question about something he knows the answer immediately and if he doesn't he'll go grab you 10 books from his library where you can find the answer.
7. I love how skilled he is in his wood shop. I'm always so interested in what he's making now, or what his next project is. I've been lucky enough to have several projects done for me and they are some of my most prized possessions (Nativity Set & Clock!).
8. I love how many hobbies my dad has and how he is always starting a new one. He has more hobbies then I can count! Banjo, fishing, woodworking, gardening, trains, ships in a bottle and John Wayne movies just to name a few.
9. I love how all growing up I would complain about the music he would always blare in his den while working on previously mentioned hobbies or have playing in the truck as we'd run errands, and now when I hear the same music it make me think fondly of him. I actually find myself trying to build my ipod collection with much of that same music.
10. I love when he cooks. It's extremely rare and usually only done on special occasion but he makes the world's best omelette's, spaghetti and cinnamon rolls... yummo!

Happy Fathers Day, Dad! I love you!
